There are some places on this planet that are often overlooked when it comes to their beauty and the great experience that can only be had by taking time to visit. Antarctica is one of these places. It is one of the least explored places on earth and is a very beautiful, Antarctica is rarely mentioned by people as a vacation destination, but it can be one of the best places to visit for those who like quiet and beautiful places. Let’s take a look at some of the places that can be explored down in Antarctica.

Drake Passage is named after the English navigator Sir Francis Drake, famous for his exploring of the oceans in the 16th century. While sailing through this area you can see beautiful snow-covered islands wildlife such as seals, albatrosses and seabirds. You can explore the passage by small boat and get up close and personal with the area.

King George Island is the South Shetlands’ biggest island. The island has wonderful scenery and it is home to the Arctowski lighthouse, the most southern lighthouse in the world.

Neko Bay is a place where you can see beautiful glacial settings. The wildlife located in the area is truly something to see. From leopard seals to the humpback whale, there are plenty of animals that can be seen in their natural habitat. Some people take pleasure in trying to climb or hike the icy landscape.

Petermann Island is an island located in the southern area of Antarctica. It is home to a big colony of Adelei penguins and it has some great looking ice formations. Some of the scenery found here can’t be found anywhere else in the world. Many people find walking around the island to be a pleasurable experience. 

Cuverville Island is a rocky island that is home to the beautiful Gentoo penguins. When the weather permits, it’s a beautiful place to cruise by and take in the sights. It is located on the northern side of the Errera Channel.
